I design and develop computer software, management systems and databases for business.

Database Development They can be used to manage workflow, optimise performance, control business systems and reduce duplication and paperwork.

The systems I build are usually Web based or built in SQL Server and / or Microsoft Access.

Great care is taken over development of graphical interface as well as the data processing which means that data entry errors can be minimised.

Database Development

In the past I have developed systems for:

Westminster City Council
A system designed to run the complete management of the Commercial Waste Department. It managed sales, deliveries, invoicing, staff scheduling and management reporting. I developed this system for a pilot scheme in and around covent garden, but it was later taken city wide.

Take 2 Films Ltd
I developed a system for one of the leading movie equipment hire houses in London. The system was designed to enable the rental desk to quickly and accurately quote for work from a large catalogue of film cameras and technical equipment. The system would check item's availability and the information would then feed through direct to invoice creation so that there was no replication of data input. The client told me the system I designed was better than that used by panavision. It was delivered at a fraction of the cost.

The Pet Crematorium Ltd
I have recently designed a management control system for The Pet Crematorium in Durham. It monitors the progress of the pets though the cremation process, enabling the management to quickly track what stage an animal is at. It schedules the delivery rounds, reports on crematorium temperatures and ensures correct data entry. It also reads from the Royal Mail post code information file to retreive customer addresses quickly and accurately. It integrates with their Sage Line 50 installation to avoid duplication of data and provides full management reporting.

CAVOS (Community and Voluntary Organisations Support)
This was a record management system that was a central repository for the organisation's information. The system allowed for authorised members of staff to instantly call up a complete case history of clients. The information also fed through to management reports and massively speeded up a laborious process of finding information.
